TERMS OF SERVICE

Welcome to Marie’s Cake House 😊 By placing an order with us, visiting our website or purchasing any of our products, you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please read these carefully before placing your order.

 

1. ABOUT US

Marie’s Cake House specialises in made to order, handcrafted celebration cakes, mini cakes, sweet treats and premium gifting products. These Terms govern all purchases and services provided by Marie’s Cake House.

 

2. ORDERS

All orders are subject to availability and acceptance.

Orders are considered confirmed once:

  • order details have been agreed; and
  • payment has been received

Customers are responsible for checking:

  • names and spellings
  • dates
  • flavours
  • quantities
  • colours and design details
  • delivery arrangements

Any changes requested after confirmation may not be possible and will incur additional charges.

 

3. PRICING & PAYMENT

·        All prices are displayed in GBP (£) and may change without prior notice

·        Full payment will be required before production begins

Marie’s Cake House reserves the right to refuse or cancel orders where:

  • payment has not been received;
  • incorrect pricing has been displayed due to error;
  • fulfilment becomes impractical or impossible.

4. BESPOKE & CELEBRATION CAKE ORDERS

Some of our products are individually designed and handcrafted.  While every effort is made to replicate inspiration images or previous designs, products are handmade and small variations may occur in:

  • colour
  • decoration
  • finish
  • proportions
  • presentation

Reference images are used as inspiration only and exact replication cannot be guaranteed.

 

5. DELIVERY

Upon successful delivery:

  • responsibility transfers to the customer;
  • storage and handling become the customer’s responsibility

Marie’s Cake House is not responsible for damage occurring after delivery including:

  • transportation incidents
  • incorrect storage
  • mishandling
  • environmental conditions

If delivery is unsuccessful due to customer unavailability, additional delivery charges will apply.

 

6. STORAGE & CONSUMPTION

Products should be stored according to any instructions provided.

Unless otherwise advised:

  • keep refrigerated or in ambient conditions where appropriate;
  • consume within recommended periods for best quality.

Marie’s Cake House cannot guarantee product quality where storage instructions have not been followed.

 

7. ALLERGENS & DIETARY INFORMATION

Products are prepared in a kitchen that handles common allergens including but not limited to:

  • milk
  • eggs
  • wheat
  • nuts
  • soya

Although precautions are taken, we cannot guarantee products are entirely free from allergen cross-contact. Customers are responsible for informing us of allergy requirements before ordering.

 

8. CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

Orders are subject to our Refund & Cancellation Policy, available separately.

Refund eligibility may vary depending on:

  • notice provided;
  • stage of preparation;
  • nature of the product ordered

9. PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY & MARKETING

Marie’s Cake House may photograph completed products for:

  • portfolio use;
  • website display;
  • social media;
  • promotional materials.

Customers should notify us before fulfilment if they do not wish their order to appear in marketing materials.

Personal details will not be published without consent.

 

10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All designs, branding, logos, product names, website content and photographs remain the intellectual property of Marie’s Cake House.  Images and content may not be reproduced or used commercially without written permission.

 

11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Marie’s Cake House shall not be liable for:

  • indirect or consequential loss;
  • event cancellations;
  • customer dissatisfaction arising from subjective preferences;
  • damage occurring after delivery

Nothing within these Terms limits statutory consumer rights.

 

12. PRIVACY

Customer information is used solely for order processing, fulfilment and customer communication and will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws.

 

13. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

Marie’s Cake House reserves the right to update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of ordering will apply.
